Method of Preparation

  1. Place powdered sugar and cornstarch in a mixing bowl.
  2. Bloom gelatin in cold water.
  3. Warm vinegar and glucose; warm bloomed gelatin; mix these together and pour into mixing bowl.
  4. Begin mixing on first speed until it comes together; adjust with water as needed.
  5. Once the dough is prepared, roll it out thin, as desired, then brush sparingly with the . Roll the dough up as you would for a cinnamon bun, then cut the log into pieces, again, as you would for a cinnamon roll.
  6. Set the pieces side by side, cut side up, and use the sparingly as needed to "glue" the pieces together. Roll the pieces out flat, elongating them as you go to create a wood grain effect.
  7. Cut out shapes as desired and allow them to dry before using.
